About Us
When people thrive, business thrives.
The Corporate Impact Lab equips senior executives to turn workforce strategy into enterprise-level transformation, strengthening business performance while expanding opportunity and well-being for millions of workers and their families.

Our Story
Founded by Tolu Lawrence during her tenure as inaugural Chief Impact Officer at Just Capital, the Corporate Impact Lab delivers impact through its core solutions: a Cross-Sector Peer Community, Workforce Well-Being & AI Executive Fellowship, and Lab@ including its marquee offering, Strategy Accelerators.
Unlike programs that end with recommendations, the Impact Lab provides ongoing support as leaders navigate internal systems, build business cases, and drive workforce strategy change. Its partners include Fortune 100s, major consumer brands, and influential SMBs, which employ nearly 5 million workers and represent $2.65 trillion in market capitalization.
Over 500,000 workers have already benefited from implemented investments in expanded paid leave, emergency savings programs, and living wage assessments. Companies in the Impact Lab are shifting how they approach skills-based hiring that opens opportunities beyond traditional credentials, career pathway programs creating advancement from entry-level to management, and AI integration strategies designed to enrich rather than replace jobs.

The Problem We Seek to Solve
America stands at a crossroads. Workforce disruption, market volatility, and declining public investment in worker well-being threaten both business performance and social cohesion. Yet amid these challenges lies an unprecedented opportunity: business leaders control the lever that can move millions of Americans toward economic opportunity and stability.
The Worker Challenge: Fifty-one percent of workers at America's largest public companies do not make a family-sustaining living wage. Over 10.5 million Americans work full-time yet remain economically vulnerable, earning less than twice the federal poverty level. These workers are disproportionately women and people of color — the majority of the U.S. labor force and the backbone of industries from healthcare to hospitality to logistics. They are also the workers most exposed to AI's quiet reshaping of frontline and mid-skill jobs. Liquidity gaps, unpredictable schedules, and limited advancement opportunities already leave families struggling; without deliberate investment, the coming decade of technological change will deepen that vulnerability, not resolve it.
The Executive Challenge: Business leaders increasingly recognize that how a company invests in its workforce reflects the values that define its culture, shape its reputation, and signal to customers, employees, and investors what it stands for; it's also strategically sound. Yet most still struggle to build the internal business case, navigate organizational resistance, or design interventions that work at scale. The costs are hiding in plain sight: turnover concentrated in specific roles, recruiting budgets that dwarf the cost of retention, frontline talent never given a path up. The companies that navigate AI well will be the ones that have built the trust and internal mobility to unlock what humans and AI can do together that neither can do alone. These leaders lack the peer community to share challenges candidly and learn from others in real time, moving as quickly as the market shifts.
The Community Impact: When businesses fail to invest in workers, entire communities bear the cost, and business feels it too. Local economies struggle when workers can't participate fully as consumers, parents, and community members. The Corporate Impact Lab addresses all three dimensions simultaneously, because the leaders who get this right won't just build better companies. They'll define what good business looks like for the next generation.
The Corporate Impact Lab partners with senior executives who believe great jobs build great businesses. We work with leaders across people, strategy, sustainability, and social impact functions at large enterprises and influential growth companies to turn workforce ambition into action.
We understand that complex workforce challenges require more than quick fixes—they demand space to think deeply, test ideas with trusted peers, and develop strategies that can actually work within your organization. Our programs create the rare opportunity to step back from urgent demands and focus on what's most important.
Our methodology combines enterprise-ready frameworks with peer accountability and hands-on implementation support. Unlike programs that end with recommendations, we stay alongside leaders as they navigate internal systems, build business cases, and deliver measurable workforce outcomes.

Our Fellows
Meet our 2025-2026 Cohort
Our Workforce Well-being and AI Executive Fellows collectively represent millions of workers and trillions in market cap. More importantly, they represent a commitment to action: senior leaders from retail, financial services, manufacturing, tech, and consumer goods who believe investing in workers isn't just the right thing to do, it's a competitive advantage.
They're not shying away from AI and automation; they're harnessing innovation to make their workforces stronger, not smaller. Through the Fellowship, they develop workforce strategies tailored to their organizations, challenge each other's thinking across industries, and build relationships that last well beyond the program.
This is where leaders who are serious about workforce innovation come to do the work—and where the next chapter of business leadership is being written.
